Alert canceled for missing Atlanta man, 79

Police have canceled a "Mattie's Call" for a 79-year-old Atlanta man who drove away from his home Monday morning and didn't return.

Lonnie McClure, who suffers from dementia, was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Monday as he left his home at 660 Gary Road in northwest Atlanta; he returned safely Monday afternoon, said APD spokesman Officer John Chafee.
