Advance voting starts Nov. 25 for Smyrna runoff election

Smyrna voters will only have three days to cast their ballots ahead of time in the Dec. 3 runoff for mayor and a City Council seat.

Advance voting will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25 to Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Cobb County Elections & Registration Office at 736 Whitlock Avenue in Marietta. If you rather stay closer to home, you can vote from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 25-27 at the Smyrna Community Center at 200 Village Green Circle.

No voting will be held Thursday, Nov. 28, Friday, Nov. 29 and Monday, Dec. 2. Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 in Smyrna, and citizens must at their assigned city precinct.

Smyrna voters will choose between two candidates to succeed longtime Mayor Max Bacon. Derek Norton and Ryan Campbell received enough votes in the five-way race Nov. 5 to advance to the runoff.

The Ward 2 City Council race between incumbent Andrea Blustein and challenger Austin Wagner resulted in a tie, so that contest will be also be on the Dec. 3 ballot.
