Black Friday is an opportunity for shoppers to save money on inanimate objects. But in metro Atlanta, it’s also a chance for animal lovers to gain a new pet — for free.

LifeLine Animal Project is waiving adoption fees on every animal at each of its locations from Friday, Nov. 23, to Monday, Nov. 26. The $300 cost associated with the animal’s spay or neuter, vaccination and microchip will also be covered, allowing the new owner to leave the shelter without spending a dime.

Adoptions generally cost about $85 for dogs and $65 for cats.

All applicants are screened to ensure the animal goes to a good home.

The promotion is valid at all LifeLine shelters, including DeKalb County Animal Services, Fulton County Animal Services, the LifeLine Dog House & Kitty Motel and the LifeLine Cat Adoption Center.
