At a cost of $642,221, Acworth police will be driving 13 new police vehicles soon. During Thursday’s meeting, the Acworth Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to pay Wade Ford $27,764 each for two 2016 Ford Interceptor police vehicles.

Aiken Dodge will receive $309,078 for 11 2016 Dodge Chargers at $23,050 each.

The Georgia Municipal Association lease/purchase program for three years will be used for these 11 cars.

Also, $277,615 will buy equipment for all 13 vehicles with the 2016 special purpose local option sales tax.
