Acworth’s expansion of Logan Farm Park is expected to be completed later this year.

As a part of the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax park improvements, the city is developing another 15 acres along Cherokee and Taylor streets.

Open green space will be encircled by a walking trail, connecting to the existing walking trail in the park. A large community playground, group shelter and restroom facilities will be constructed. The Historic House in the park, next to the Parks and Recreation offices, also will be renovated and restored to become a meeting/gathering facility.

Currently, the park120-acre park in the center of the city encompasses a lighted 1/3-mile walking trial around a multipurpose recreation field.

The trail also extends to Cowan Road, Cherokee Street, a playground, public restrooms, Amos Durr Community Ball Field, Roberts School Community Center and the Rosenwald School.
