Acworth Mayor Tommy Allegood announced the city will host a Community Conversation from 1 p.m. to about 2:30 p.m. on June 10 on “race, prejudice and social injustice.”
He made this announcement during the June 4 meeting of the Board of Aldermen.
“To discuss strategies to bring the community closer together,” a city statement issued on June 5 said the format will include a panel of community leaders that will have dialogue with questions and answers.
“We’ve had leaders from around the county who want to be a part of this,” Allegood added.
Due to limited seating at the Acworth Community Center, 4361 Cherokee St., because of COVID-19 restrictions, the event will be shown live at Facebook.com/CityOfAcworth.
By noon June 9, questions for the panel may be sent to CommunityConversation@acworth.org.
“We will do our best to address as many questions as possible in our allotted time and will consolidate frequently asked or similar questions in nature,” the city statement added.
