An update on Acworth’s new downtown pedestrian bridge was given by city officials on Sept. 4.

The bases of the pedestrian bridge are in skeleton form as the steel has been erected with the stairs continuing to be installed.

The bridge has been delivered and is being assembled.

While the setting of the bridge is still “weeks away,” once the bridge is set, the bases can be “wrapped” in brick.

AT&T and Atlanta Gas Light are finalizing efforts on their utilities, and a base coat of asphalt has been laid, the city statement added.
