Spurgeon Richardson, former president of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, may have retired, but his replacement is still keeping him active in the industry.

New ACVB president William Pate said Wednesday at the group’s executive board meeting that he has tapped Richardson to help convince Rotary International to bring its annual meeting to Atlanta in 2017.

Richardson retired from the tourism organization last year after 17 years at the helm. LEON STAFFORD
