Today we visit Suwanee. And a swanky new bowling alley (with food and other stuff too).

Reader Tracy Mixon asks: "When is Main Event in Suwanee opening?"

Tracy. My wife has a cousin named Tracy. She's a very good person and a very good mother, and her job is to make sick kids feel better. Hope you're living up to the name, Miss Mixon.

Anyway...Main Event. Suwanee. Yes. A fabulous question with a very exciting answer.

But first, background! The "Main Event in Suwanee" our dear Tracy refers to is a fancy new bowling alley/laser tag/arcade/food spot that's been under construction on Northolt Parkway (just off Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road near Lowe's) since the summer.

I first told you all about it back in July.

Wow, sounds cool. Right? To be more specific, the so-called "eatertainment" spot will offer bowling, multi-level laser tag, billiards, a couple restaurants and a bar

— plus the possibility of other things like "gravity ropes," mini golf, karaoke and ziplining (somehow).

Main Event bills itself as the "fastest-growing bowling-anchored entertainment center in America," and it already has locations in Alpharetta and "Atlanta" (just ITP on Cobb Parkway).

Great, awesome, cool...so when does it open in Suwanee? Soon, Tracy. Very soon.

Main Event recently posted this little ditty on its Facebook page.

Please don't let the weird guys with bowling balls as heads distract you — it opens at 3 p.m. Dec. 13.

That's a Tuesday, which seems odd. But then again, it gives the fine folks at Main Event nine days or so to get in the groove before Gwinnett County schools let out for Christmas break.

Yes. Christmas break. It's on the horizon. Already.
