Reporter Tammy Joyner covers the southside of metro Atlanta, focusing on issues and trends that affect Clayton, Henry and Fayette counties. She joined The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in November 1994 and has held a series of positions: assistant business editor, workplace reporter and Sunday Enterprise reporter.

She has received numerous local, state and national awards in her 30 years as a journalist, including a University of Michigan Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship in 2003-2004. Joyner lives in Clayton County with her family.
