Armstrong Atlantic State University received a grant worth $870,000 to recruit Latino students and help them succeed once they attend the Savannah campus.

It is the third grant the college has received from the Goizueta Foundation. The Atlanta-based organization supports similar efforts at colleges around the state. AASU has received about $1.9 million from the group since 2003.

The latest grant will provide needs-based scholarships and support a pilot program to improve graduation rates among these students.
