48th annual Wild Hog Supper

Members of the Georgia legislature gathered Sunday at the Georgia Freight Depot for the 48th annual Wild Hog Supper that kicks off the 2010 Legislative session.

Georgia lawmakers, state employees and lobbyists prepared their plates for a night of feasting -- the 48th annual Wild Hog Supper at the historic railroad depot near the Gold Dome -- which traditionally kicks off the legislative session.

The ever present hog watches over the gathering crowd at the Georgia Freight Depot.

On the menu, of course, was pork -- barbecued.

Representatives and senators greet the estimated 1,000 guests to the feast held annually near the state Capitol.

Miss Cobb County Casy Walker, 20, bites into an ear of corn.

Wouldn't be a supper without dessert, ice cream cones were stacked up neatly ready to be served with Georgia peach ice cream.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) took part in the traditional gathering that ushers in the legislative session.

David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), who won the House Republican Caucus vote for House speaker, arrives. Among the first order of business Monday morning in the House will be to elect a new speaker.
