Ga. 400 will see lane and shoulder closures in Forsyth County this week as crews finish demolition work at the Pilgrim Mill Road overpass (Exit 16) near Cumming.

Multiple daytime traffic pacing was scheduled for Tuesday for both northbound and southbound lanes of Ga. 400, followed by shoulder closures on the northbound lanes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, according to a county announcement.

"These closures are all weather dependent, so there may be some fluctuation," the county said. "Updates will be posted on the county Facebook and Twitter pages as necessary."

The bridge work is part of a larger project to widen a roughly 1.7-mile stretch of Pilgrim Mill from Aquatic Circle to Holtzclaw Road. The overpass is to be widened from three lanes to seven, with dual left-turn lanes to southbound Ga. 400 and a single left-turn lane to northbound Ga. 400, according to a Forsyth road projects website: https://bit.ly/2SDjdtn
