Ga. 400 shoulder lane hours extended

Motorists on Ga. 400 through North Fulton can now use the flexible shoulder lanes for an additional hour during the morning and afternoon rush hour.

GDOT officials have extended morning shoulder hours to 6-10 a.m. and afternoon usage from 4-7 p.m Monday through Friday.The flexible hours previously ended at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The department said the decision came after driver feedback.

The northbound shoulder flex lane extends from the MARTA North Springs station to Northridge Road, while the southbound lane starts at Holcomb Bridge Road and end at MARTA. The speed limit for the shoulder lanes is 45 mph.
