Two people died and four were injured Sunday afternoon as the result of a single-car crash that resulted in the closure of all eastbound lanes of I-20.

Around 1:30 p.m., a 2003 silver Ford Explorer flipped several times after a tire blew out on the interstate between Factory Shoals Road and Riverside Parkway in Austell, Cobb County police spokesman Officer Joseph Hernandez said. Three of the six occupants were ejected.

Adriana Gil, 29, of Forest Park, died at the scene. Rocia Jimenez, also 29 and also from Forest Park, died after she was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. The other four victims were taken to either Atlanta Medical or Grady Memorial Hospital. Police did not release their identities.

All eastbound lanes between Thornton Road and Riverside Parkway were closed for several hours as authorities investigated the crash and cleaned up the highway.
