Forsyth County Commissioners got a first look at the proposed FY 2016 budget at a June 9 work session.

County budget officials project general fund revenues at roughly $110.5 million, up nearly 7 percent from this year, while expenditures would come to about $109.3 million, a roughly 5.8 percent jump.

The budget also includes nearly $2.5 million in general fund capital projects, ranging from computer replacements and upgrades to building renovations. Requested new general fund budget items total $3.9 million, including a $2 million upgrade of the county’s radio system, and well over a dozen new full- and part-time positions.

Next up in the budget process: a discussion by commissioners at their June 23 meeting.
