A $200 million mixed-use development in downtown Lawrenceville has broken ground

A new mixed-use development has broken ground in downtown Lawrenceville.

Construction has begun on SouthLawn, a $200 million project on Clayton Street near City Hall and the Lawrenceville police station. The city expects the project to have more than 600 residential units and more than 15,000 square feet of retail space, according to a press release.

SouthLawn will include three- and four-story apartment buildings and townhomes, as well as single-family “detached cluster houses,” the release says. SouthLawn Luxury Apartment Residences will have a “town center format” and an “elevated pool” overlooking the development. Another residential complex, Conclave, will have larger units, a one-acre park and private pool, club and fitness facilities, the release says. There will be more than 150 single-family and townhome units in addition to the apartments.

“The partnership with these developers has delivered to Lawrenceville a much needed renaissance in the community, executing Council’s vision for a more urban and sustainable activity center in our community,” said City Manager Chuck Warbington in the release.

An estimated completion date for SouthLawn was not available.
