More than 51,000 Cobb County residents have voted heading into the last weekend before the presidential election.

As of Thursday, 38,458 Cobb residents cast their ballot in-person since in-person early voting started in metro Atlanta on Oct. 17, according to statistics sent to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution from the Cobb elections office.

During that time, 13,187 mail-in votes have been returned in Cobb of the 24,801 sent out.

That makes for a total of 51,645 votes so far.

But the weekends make a difference. Last Saturday, 3,185 people voted.

About 3,700 people cast their ballots the first day of early voting alone.
