James Paschal: A life in photos

James Paschal, who founded Paschal's restaurant with his brother, Robert, died Nov. 28, 2008.

James Paschal, co-founder of the restaurant that bore his name and became an active part of Atlanta and civil-rights history, died Friday at age 88.

The Paschal brothers filled an order for 5,000 chicken dinners shortly after moving their restaurant to its bigger facility across the street from the original.
