Portions of I-285 and I-75 in Cobb County will be closed over the weekend for road work, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced Friday.

I-75: On I-75 northbound around the SR 5 Connector/Barrett Parkway, one left lane will be closed from 9:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Saturday for re-striping.

One right lane will be closed from 5:00 a.m. on Saturday until 5:00 a.m. on Sunday for placement of a barrier wall.

The agency said the closures are needed to perform rehabilitation of the I-75 bridge over Barrett Parkway.

The project has a $4.280 million budget and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2020.

I-285: Two right lanes will be closed on I-285 southbound between Paces Ferry Road and South Atlanta Road, and between South Cobb Drive and Bolton Road, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights beginning 9:00 p.m. and ending 5:00 a.m.

GDOT urged motorists to reduce their speed in the work zone and call 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
