DeKalb County residents are able to find out about water and sewer construction projects near their homes through a county website launched this week.

The website, dekalbconsentdecree.com, features an interactive project finder that allows visitors to search for projects by address or keyword, and it also provides descriptions, schedules and budgets.

The site is a tool for the community to use as the county is ramping up a five-year, $1.35 billion capital improvement project to repair and upgrade water and sewer infrastructure.

“Continuous communication with residents and business owners affected by the improvement activities is vital to the overall success of this program,” said Kenneth Saunders, program director for the county’s Capital Improvement Projects Division.

The website also includes general information about federal requirements for infrastructure improvements, frequently asked questions and reduction of fats and greases.
