The torn-down General Motors plant in Doraville may finally be redeveloped now that governments are helping to raise $180 million for infrastructure.

It took years of negotiations before the tax financing deal was completed by DeKalb County and the city of Doraville.

The DeKalb public school system resisted contributing to the project, but Doraville's government found a way to use education money anyway.

Now it's up to the developer, The Integral Group, to attract businesses and rebuild the 165-acre site into vibrant mix of offices, retail and residences.
