Gwinnett County will spend nearly $1.6 million to improve the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Club Drive near Duluth.

The county Board of Commissioners Tuesday awarded a contract to Georgia Development Partners LLC to complete the work, which includes adding turn lanes on both roads.

When the work is done, the intersection will feature three left turn lanes northbound on Pleasant Hill, replacing the existing two turn lanes. It also will feature two right turn lanes on eastbound Club Drive, replacing the existing single lane.

Gwinnett will use money from a voter-approved 2014 special sales tax to pay for the project.
