Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office detectives have collared a suspect they think is responsible for more than a half-dozen burglaries.

Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Matthew Yandow, 20, was arrested at a home in the Springwater Place subdivision off Toonigh Road. He’s been charged with one count of burglary so far, but detectives suspect he broke into seven homes in the same subdivision from Wednesday to Friday of last week.

Detectives said after executing a search warrant, they found, cash, jewelry, prescription medicaton and electronics during a search of the home. More stolen property turned up at Cobb and Cherokee County pawnshops.

Yandow was in custody at the Cherokee County jail on $11,200 bond late Tuesday.
