The company that will come from the combination of Norcross-based RockTenn and MeadWestvaco, based in Virginia, still doesn't have a name. But its leader, RockTenn CEO Steven Voorhees, said Thursday he is confident that the businesses remain on track to complete their merger in June.

Still, a lot of the details about the combined company remain to be seen. Voorhees said there are opportunities for productivity improvements in the mill system in the companies’ paper businesses, but stopped short of giving more details.

He also did not rule out further acquisitions.

“One of the great things about the new company is we do have a platform for growth,” he said in a conference call with analysts. “We’re going to continue to look for opportunities.”

For now, though, leadership is looking at the best way to make the merger work.

“It’s the job we’re focused on now,” he said.
