If DeKalb voters approve raising their sales taxes, much of the money should go toward fixing up the county's worn-down roads.

That's according to a group of citizens that recommended projects Wednesday that could be funded through the special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST), which is planned to appear on the ballot in November.

The group also suggested funding for fire stations, a government center, a police academy and various other infrastructure improvements.

These recommendations are being forwarded to the DeKalb Commission, which is scheduled to consider a final project list in June.
