DeKalb County's sewer system has reached its limits in some areas where developers are considering building restaurants, stores and apartments.

The county government has identified 11 proposed development sites that have potential sewer capacity limitations, and more than 60 other projects are still being evaluated.

That's an increase from the initial five development sites that received sewer capacity warning letters from the county this summer.

Interim DeKalb CEO Lee May says the county still has the capacity to handle major business projects, and the county is working with developers to find solutions that don't hold up their plans.
