Pivotal primary election will decide DeKalb’s future

This month's elections in DeKalb could prove to be a turning point for the county, when voters decide on a loaded slate of candidates to run their local government.

The May 24 primary will likely determine the outcome of most races because DeKalb leans heavily Democratic, and Republicans rarely win countywide campaigns in higher-turnout November elections.

Voters will have major choices to make for CEO, county commissioners, district attorney, judges and state legislators.
