New sidewalks will improve access to Gwinnett middle school

Sept 7, 2016

Gwinnett County will build new sidewalks to improve access to Lanier Middle School in Sugar Hill.

The county Board of Commissioners Tuesday awarded a $799,369 contract to low bidder CMES Inc. to do the work. The company will build sidewalks on the west side of Suwanee Dam Road from Grand Magnolia Drive to the school and on the south side of Buford Dam Road from Island Ford Road to the school. The project also includes curb and gutter and drainage improvements.

To pay for the project, the county will use proceeds from a 2014 voter-approved special sales tax for construction projects.
