No more charge cards for DeKalb officials

DeKalb County's government elected leaders have given up their charge cards after a state law restricted their use.

The purchasing cards were an easy way to pay for official expenses, but they led to allegations of misspending on items such as ski resort bookings, cellphones, meals and more.

County commissioners said they want to move on from the controversy caused by the Visa cards.

Now they’ll have to write checks or use personal credit cards for expenses, and then seek reimbursement from the county.
