Johns Creek to recycle trees

Johns Creek will take Christmas trees and other recyclables Jan. 2

The Bring One for the Chipper evens collects trees at the Home Depot parking lot at 5950 State Bridge Road between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Fats, oils, grease and fluorescent tubes will be collected between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The trees will be mulched. They should not be sprayed with fake snow, and and electric lights, tinsel and ornaments should be removed.

Mulch will be used for playgrounds, wildlife habitats and other uses. Free mulch is available by calling 770-451-7911.
