There are even more raw sewage spills in DeKalb County than had been previously reported.

The county government acknowledged Thursday its investigation has found six additional sewer spills large enough to reach creeks and rivers from 2012 to 2015, along with 17 more overflows that didn't reach public waterways.

These new spills were discovered after the county already revealed 35 previously undisclosed sewer spills in August.

DeKalb could face fines from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.
