Gwinnett County will pay a Buford couple $300,000 to settle claims that their property was damaged by the construction of Level Creek Park.

Edward and Genevieve Breedlove claim silt runoff from the construction damaged ponds and an unnamed creek that runs through their property. Under the terms of the settlement, Gwinnett County does not admit wrongdoing. But it will pay the couple and perform grading and other work to stabilize a stream bank on their property.

The county Board of Commissioners approved the settlement Tuesday night.

Commissioners awarded a $10.8 million contract for the park's construction in 2014. The work is expected to be completed in three to six months.
