A proposed Gwinnett County sales tax for school construction appeared well on its way to passing late Tuesday.

With nearly two thirds of precincts reporting, the proposal had overwhelming support from voters. It would generate some $950 million over five years for school construction and other improvements for Gwinnett and City of Buford schools.
