Gwinnett candidate drops out after controversial tweets about Jews

Nov 6, 2017Suwanee City Council candidate Joe Briggs has dropped out of the race after receiving backlash from his controversial social media activity.
Briggs, a 59-year-old engineer, drew fire last week after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution published screenshots of inflammatory tweets he wrote about Jews and Israel.
Suwanee, like several other cities in Gwinnett and elsewhere, will hold municipal elections Tuesday.
