Fulton County opens cooling centers for seniors

Fulton County is opening cooling stations for senior citizens who need to avoid the heat.

The county’s four senior multipurpose buildings will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for seniors without air conditioning to cool off.

They are the Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Facility at 6500 Vernon Woods Dr. in Sandy Springs; the H.J.C. Bowden Senior Multipurpose Facility at 2885 Church Street in East Point; the Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility at 677 Fairburn Road, NW in Atlanta; and the Helene S. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility at 515 John Wesley Dobbs in Atlanta.
