Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts was a passenger in a car hit by a drunk driver Thursday morning.

In a statement, Pitts said that neither he nor the driver of his car sustained "serious injuries" in the two-vehicle accident in Sandy Springs.

Pitts was on his way to a meeting around 10 a.m. when the accident occurred, he said.

The driver of the other car was charged with DUI, having an open container, driving on a suspended license and failure to yield, Pitts said.
