Fayette County has been locked in a legal fight since 2011 with the NAACP and a group of black residents over how county government leaders are elected. The NAACP lawsuit sought to change the county's at-large electoral system to district voting, a method the civil rights group says is more equitable. The lengthy court fight could be winding down now. This week, the school board agreed to settle and adopt a new district map. Learn more about the case here.
