All those boxes, wrapping paper and trash left over from the holidays will to wait a day to be collected in DeKalb County.

Trash pickups throughout DeKalb will be delayed one day both next week and the week after.

The county announced that because it observes Christmas Day on Monday this year, collection of garbage, recyclable material and yard trimming will be delayed a day.

The same schedule will apply the following week, when New Year’s Day is observed Jan. 2. Collection services will run one day late through Friday, Jan. 6.
