Community meeting about DeKalb soccer facilities planned

Members of the public will be able to share their opinions about Atlanta United’s planned DeKalb soccer complex during a meeting with several county officials.

The forum will be hosted by DeKalb Commissioners Kathie Gannon, Nancy Jester and Jeff Rader, all of whom oppose the county's agreement with Atlanta United.

The county commission last month voted 4-3 to approve more than $12 million in incentives to entice the soccer team to build its $35 million training facilities and headquarters in DeKalb.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sept. 28 at 1300 Commerce Drive in Decatur.
