Clayton County Water Authority is looking for volunteers to help with the county’s annual Rivers Alive Stream Cleanup on Saturday October 24.

CCWA’s Stormwater Management section hosts the yearly event which brings together Clayton residents to clean trash, litter and other debris from local rivers and creeks. This year’s event will be at Panhandle Park from 10 a.m. to noon. The park is at 10930 Panhandle Road in Jonesboro.

Volunteers should wear outdoor clothing and waterproof boots. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. After the initial safety briefing, volunteers will spend about an hour cleaning up around Hurricane Creek. To volunteer for the clean-up, call 770 961-2130, ext. 5508.
