Three road projects and a park in DeKalb County received approval from the Atlanta Regional Commission Board on Wednesday. The projects, collectively worth $31.29 million, are part of a longer list of 100 initiatives that receiving funding through 2023.

The four in DeKalb are:

  • Extending the Peachtree Creek Greenway linear park from the city of Atlanta to North Druid Hills Road and connecting it to the Atlanta Beltline;
  • Preliminary engineering and design for a rebuild of the interchange at Interstate 285 and Interstate 20;
  • Adding a center turn lane, bike lanes and sidewalks along Panola Road between Browns Mill Road and Fairington Road while also straightening a curve on Panola Road between Salem Drive and Oaktree Trail and adding traffic signals to improve flow;
  • A redesign of U.S. 278 in Avondale Estates to make it more pedestrian-friendly with new bike lines, pedestrian crossings, medians and improved sidewalks.
