The General Correspondence of John A. Randall series, which is part of the National Archives, details the contributions of Atlanta University to the country's World War I efforts. During World War I, a small group of Atlanta University and Morehouse students engaged in a student army training camp, based at Atlanta University as part of a contract with the U.S. government. Atlanta University also trained over 200 soldiers in an army school for mechanics.
