Just when the temperatures hit the seasonal 90s, the calendar says it’s time to put away the swimsuits and flip-flops and head back to class.

Nearly a dozen school systems in metro Atlanta will start the 2019-2020 school year on Thursday:

Barrow County, Cherokee County, Cobb County, Decatur City, Forsyth County, Henry County, Marietta City, Morgan County, Newton County, Paulding County and Walton County all open doors to students bright and early.

If you’re new to the area and haven’t registered students, most districts ask that you do so directly at the school. Check the school’s website for the necessary documents.
