A member of a cocaine distribution ring has been sentenced to 10 years plus one month in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Glenn A. Cook, 41, of Atlanta, is the last of five defendants to be sentenced for their role in a regional cocaine distribution ring operating in Georgia from October 2010 through January 2011, U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said.
Cook and another ring leader, Vincent Lamar Hall, distributed a total of 676 kilograms of cocaine, according to Yates.
“A four-month investigation of two Atlanta area cocaine suppliers led to the prosecution of numerous individuals in the distribution chain and stopped key players from continuing to sell cocaine throughout Georgia,” Yates said.
Cook and Hall each lived in lavish homes with surveillance cameras on their properties, Yates said.
After prison, Cook will spend five years on supervised release and perform 100 hours of community service.
Hall, 42, of Lithonia, was sentenced in October to 12 years, seven months in prison for conspiracy to possess cocaine, money laundering, and tax evasion.
The other defendants also were sentenced last year. T’Michael Djuan Jones, 39, of Conyers, received 12 years, three months in prison; Phillip La Shawn Massey, 35, of Hampton received 10 years, three months; and Anthony Gasque, 34, of Fairburn, was sentenced to five years, three months.
