A 28-year-old man died Thursday after driving off the highway and striking trees in northern Cherokee County.
Guy Russell Railing Jr., of Jasper, was ejected from the Buick LeSabre he was driving after running off Ga. 140 near Sam Nelson Road around 4:45 p.m., according to Tim Cavender with the Cherokee County fire department. Railing’s name was released Friday by the Georgia State Patrol.
Investigators believe Railing was transported to Northside Hospital Cherokee, where he died, Cavender said.
A 33-year-old passenger was able to get herself out of the car after the wreck, Cavender said. She was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in unknown condition.
The state patrol has not yet determined the cause of the crash.
