A 19-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a pick-up truck Friday afternoon in Forsyth County. The truck’s driver was arrested at the scene.
Cameron James Fullerton, of Cumming,was driving a Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Heardsville Road when he was hit by a Ford F25 driven by Jonathan Troy Sorrells, according to Karleen Chalker with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
Sorrells, 34, of Cumming was heading northbound and making a left hand turn into the parking lot of the Old Heardsville Store when he struck the motorcycle, investigators said. The wreck happened around 4:40 p.m., Chalker said.
Fullerton was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, Chalker said. Sorrells was not injured and was arrested at the scene. He was charged with misdemeanor vehicular homicide and failure to yield while turning left, police said late Friday.
Friday’s death was the second this week involving a motorcyclist in Forsyth County. On Monday, Kirsti Sue Baiel, 21, of Cumming, was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of McCoy Circle and Spot Road, according to police. Baiel died after being transported to the hospital.
