Two people died in a fiery, early Saturday morning crash along Interstate 285 near Langford Parkway after a tractor-trailer slammed into a car.

According to a police report, at about 1:30 a.m. the tractor-trailer was northbound when it came upon a car that was either traveling extremely show or stopped.

The tractor-trailer rear-ended the car, slamming it into the median, where it burst into flames. The two people in the car died at the scene.

The tractor-trailer driver was not injured and all lanes of I-285 northbound were temporarily closed while crews worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is on-going and no charges have been filed.
