Kansas City defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi celebrated the Super Bowl win not only by making snow angels in confetti but also by paying it forward to a local pet shelter. His foundation is paying for all adoption fees for dogs currently in the KC Pet Project.

Their website shows 109 dogs up for adoption as of Monday. ABC News reported the non-profit shelter cares for more than 10,000 pets annually.

The defensive tackle hails from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He played football for Florida State before being drafted by the Chiefs in 2018.

He started the Derrick Nnadi Foundation to honor his father’s advice, which states that “As Nnadi’s we don’t receive, we give.”

Nnadi has been giving all season by sponsoring one dog per Chiefs win during the football season, all of which found forever homes.

"Kansas City is on cloud nine this morning with last night's win and we're thrilled to be partnering with Derrick Nnadi on this wonderful initiative...Thanks to his incredible support, more than 100 available dogs in our care will have their adoption fees sponsored starting today." — Tori Fugate, spokesperson from KC Pet Project

On Twitter, Nnadi described sponsoring dog adoptions as “the perfect way to cap off this great season!!”

He will present the check to the KC Pet Project in person and will continue to make appearances at other philanthropy events with his foundation. In the past, Nnadi has supported the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kansas City and The Ronald McDonald House. He also stays involved in his hometown of Virginia Beach.
