A 13-year-old boy was shot in a bedroom inside a Fulton County apartment Friday afternoon, police said.

Police were called to the complex on Godby Road around 3 p.m., Fulton County Police Department Cpl. Maureen Smith said. The teen, whom Smith said was grazed by a bullet near his eye, was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. He is conscious and alert, Smith said.

The investigation is active and police have not taken anyone into custody, Smith said.

A group of the boy’s friends was at the apartment at the time of the shooting, according to Smith.

“We’re still just investigating whether it was intentional or whether it was an accident,” she said. “Not sure yet.”
